Due to its low strength, vinylon material is used less and less in actual production. However, the cost of polypropylene is less than one-half of that of nylon and vinylon in meeting the processing requirements of seat belts. Therefore, the development strength is high and abrasion resistance is good. The substitution of traditional industrial belt material with less polypropylene industrial yarn has become a global trend.
In this study, a polypropylene industrial yarn for high-strength seat belts was prepared by the optimized melt spinning process. The influence of spinning process on the fiber strength properties was discussed. The crystallization and mechanical properties of the fibers were tested. Automotive polypropylene industrial yarn product performance, increase product added value has important value.
