Polypropylene high-strength yarn has many years of development history. Nowadays, it has been widely used. This is also because polypropylene high-strength yarn has outstanding characteristics.
Outstanding features of polypropylene high-strength yarn:
1. It has a very high tensile strength, up to 70.6cN/tex (8g/d), which is almost a single time of ordinary polypropylene yarn.
2. The density of polypropylene high-strength yarn is 0.91, the smaller synthetic fiber, which is lighter than water.
3. The thermal conductivity is 0.1~0.3J/m·s·K, such a low value, so the heat preservation performance is very good.
4. There is almost no hygroscopicity, which makes it difficult to dye, but it can be colored with masterbatch stock solution. The moisture absorption rate is zero, so the wet strength is equal to the dry strength, and the strength of the product in water will not decrease.
5. It has excellent chemical resistance. Compared with the chemical resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance of various fibers, polypropylene fiber is superior to polyester, nylon, acrylic, vinylon, etc., except that it is not as good as PTFE fiber.
6. It is not corroded by insects and bacteria, and has outstanding resistance to mildew and microorganisms.
7. The melting point of polypropylene high-strength yarn is only 176 ℃, so heat resistance and thermal stability are poor. Relatively speaking, this is the shortcoming of polypropylene. However, due to the thermoplastic nature of polypropylene high-strength yarn, it is below 130°C, and the measured strength increases after the temperature rises.
8. Abrasion resistance is also a single sample in wet and dry state, flat abrasion resistance is close to nylon, and bending resistance is slightly worse.
9. Polypropylene fiber has poor light resistance and is easy to age, but the light resistance can fully meet the requirements after adding light stabilizers.
